MAXICAM :: Security Solution

The Maxicam XR 300 is a cellular based camera that is a standalone security solution. No additional computers or equipment is needed. Simply plug the camera in, register it and immediately start using it. You can control the Maxicam via your cellular phone or via the Internet.

Select the PORTAL option from the toolbar and log in as maxicamdemo@gmail.com (Password: maxicamdemo) to experience the control portal. You can also go to mobi.maxicam.co.za on your mobile.

The Maxicam offers a number of unique services:

When armed, the Maxicam takes a picture the moment motion is detected, and sent directly to your phone
Request immediate picture capturing from anywhere in the world
Infra-red image capturing to take pictures in the dark
Panic button remote to send out multiple SMS messages when panic button is pressed
8 hours battery backup
Very low operational cost

In addition to the camera remotes, your own Maxicam website and mobile website can be used to control the Maxicam XR 300. A variety of settings can be implemented to ensure that the Maxicam XR 300 is set up to your requirements.

The Maxicam XR 300 is purchased once off for a price ranging between R 1499 and R1799, depending on the exchange rate. A monthly subscription fee of R30 / 40 pay as you use units is charged that covers ALL the following:

Pay as You Use SIM card balance management
Access to camera management and control website (www.maxicam.co.za)
Access to mobile / WAP camera management and control website (mobi.maxicam.co.za)
Picture storage and history
Management and control of multiple cameras
Emergency panic button SMS alerts and picture capturing functionality
Management of authorized users giving you the control to allow other users to access the mobi site, receive panic alerts and receive picture notification on motion detection.
Camera arming / disarming via remote control unit
Power failure and restoration events when camera is connected to a power source
Picture rendering on your cellular phone via the Mobile Web

What does the R30.00 per month NOT cover?

The costs not covered by the monthly subscription fee are all GSM communication from and to the camera. To enable this communication you will have to buy pay as you use units from Maxicam.

The following costs (per camera) will be charged against your Maxicam pay as you use account when interacting with the camera:
1 Unit > Picture alert send to handset for display on motion detection
1 Unit > Panic alert send to handset for display on pressing of panic button
2 Unit > Power failure/restore notifications send to handset
2 Units > Change camera setting
2 Units > Remote Web/Mobile picture capturing request
2 Units > Remote Web/Mobile arming/disarming

The following communication events are free:
0 Unit > Picture send from camera to remote server for storage on motion detection (Alert to handset is disabled)
0 Unit > Remote control arm/disarm

* 1 Unit = +-75c depending on number of pay as you use units you buy at a time

The Maxicam is the Ideal stand-alone security solution. Its low cost, ease of use and multi-functional capability provides one of the best security solutions in the South African marketplace. The ability to bundle all these services within the R30.00 monthly fee makes Maxicam the most affordable GSM camera solution by far. Similar solutions using MMS messaging would cost in excess of R120 per month.
